If you saw a nice-looking fella in a shiny white cowboy hat walking 'round New Street on Friday nite, that was Cory McAbee. His solo set at the Wildflower Cafe packed the house. I don't pretend to know anything about Cory and his music, so all I can say is...
1) He rocks the ukelele and the autoharp
2) His music is incredible
3) He has a growing fan base in Bethlehem, because of his film, The American Astronaut.
Some rabid fans practically foamed at the mouth (or perhaps spilled their Yuengling) when Cory closed with "Apartment 5".
After the show I was at a bar with Zoe and Fernanda and we all agreed that Cory is smokin' hot. He manages to pull off a big shiny white cowboy hat, a white t-shirt tucked into black jeans, without looking gay at all (he's not gay. this is why the girls were swooning.) Fern also said it made her sing "What if I was romeo in black jeans...." you know, that "No Myth" song....
